Long story short...my LBS called Velosity; they said there had been some number of manufacturing
defective rims. They thought they had culled out all the bad ones. Consequently they will send the
LBS a new correct size rim. Plus they will pay him for the cost of rebuilding the wheel. Moreover,
they said that if there is a problem with the next rim they send, they will provide a tire to fit.
All together a very fair settlement. Meanwhile, I'm glad I have a friends Bike Friday front wheel to
use; it is almost identical to my own wheel
