  1. I've been looking at glen-affric.co.ukglen-affric.co.uk regarding
the hotel/hostel, they haven't replied to emails and phone
number is out of order, I then noticed the calendar of
"events" is from April to October *2002*. Anyone know if
it's open or not, is this place the same as the hostel
closed for refurbishment by the SYHA?

I received an e-mail in July 2002 from Louise Hodgeson, who
said she was the new owner of the hotel. Haven't heard
anything since, looks as though her venture has failed.

I'd presume it must be a different establishment from the
SYHA place, if nothing else, the post codes are slightly
    different.

    Is it this one ?

Alltbeithe SYHA closes over the winter but I would have
thought it should be open by now. One problem, however, is
that it requires regular refurbishment in the spring as the
internal doors get ripped off and used as firewood by some
less considerate winter users. So I've heard, at least.

I'd agree, that is not the SYHA hostel. I've stayted in
Cannich at the Independent Hostel. The number I have for
them is 01456 415263. There is also the SYHA, I'm sure you
can get hold of their number easily.

Don't forget the SYHA hostel further up the Glen. There is
also a bothy not far from there.

I'm sure 01224 is the code for Aberdeen, the phone number
given on website was 01456 415214 (number unavailable). I
was leaving Altbeithe for later in the year, it's the
easterly group of Munros I am looking to do, so overnighting
in Cannich/nearby and then driving into the Glen and parking
just to the east of the Affric Lodge is the idea. Back to
    the search....
