Folks,
I've been alerted by Jim Menegay to a forged approval on
what is known in the trade as a "joe job" (you can probably
Google on that to find out what I mean).
Please don't get mad at "choiceone.net"; these spams are all
forged to appear to come from there but in general are
injected at a number of trojan-horse infected machines
around the globe; the particular one that got US originated
from a machine in, of all places, AUSTRALIA.
Now, who posts to s.b.e. from Australia? Hmmm.....
No no. I'm just kidding. Some poor bozo probably opened a
trojan-horse-bearing email in, uh..."Milton, Queensland" and
all unbeknownst to them, their box is now sending out forged
Usenet articles.
Now, as most of you know, it's ridiculously easy to forge an
article into a moderated group, and none of the large
servers would honor a cancel if I issued it. So I may do it,
or I may not (or I may whinge some savvy person to do it for
me, more like).
So. Keep your pants on, and just ignore the obvious
spams. Okay?
