Hello,

I am thinking about buying a second hand bike:

Claud Butler Vuelta Men's Racer

Obviously I know this isn't a professional racer, but does anyone know if it's any good? Or does anyone have any pics of it?

Thanks in advance

well greta, these are okay "entry level bikes". Erm... professional racer ? I`m not of the lycra wearing set myself, consider this bicyle fairly heavy duty anway ? I think that this company has something to do with flacon who also produce fairly `okay` cheap bikes.Personally, I`d rather spend my money on a decent second-hand motorcycle over some brand name, lol. I bought mine about 7 months ago (mainly for fitness training) - use it every other day and its fine, a good quality bike, good work out.
The gear ratios are a little low for my liking & the tyres the bikes supplied with were rubbish. Gears are featherlight and extremely responsive.

I recommend replacing the tyres for heavy duty along with swapping the pedals for clip-ons/straps,should you decide to buy.

I picked up a shop soiled vuelta (few tiny scratches) for just over £100 so if you`re buying second-hand, dont pay any more than £50.

Some pics below: Claud butler vuelta (also available in yellow/black, metallic grey /white).

I didn't get it in the end! Would like to get a half decent racer, but although I'm reasonably fit I won't be doing proper cycle racing. If anyone has any suggestions around the 3-400 mark I'd be ineterested.

Yeah, I did look at your post date and wonder but hey...
Y`never know, there might be others out-there with low budgets,
looking toward these British-handbuilts ? :)
