Does anyone know if the GT 2004 ZR3.0 is any good for a beginner. It is priced at £699 but I can get it at a local shop for £549. I was going to go for the Trek 1200 but this seems like a good price for the bike. What do you guys think.

What we think does not matter a hill of beans, my advice is to ride both and buy the one that feels right to you. That is all that matters.
