I know that the UCI is the governing body in cycling and racing. I've been to their website and have been trying to figure out the legalities of racing on an aero disc. I have a Renn 575 composite rear disc along with Mavic Ksyrium SSC front wheel. These are mounted on a road bike, not tt bike, along with clip-on aerobars. My understanding of my configuration is that it would only be UCI legal during time trials and triathalons, and not during a regular road race. Is there anyone out there that can correct me or clarify for me what the exact rules are? I was hoping to take it to a local road race.

not if UCI we have some around here that we organize for fun, and we don't care, so anything goes.

What about Criteriums?

Gaggioli raced at Downers Gve in about '93 with a rear disc. But that was a lifetime ago....when he was only 31!!

:D
