Tires Hutchinson Equinox Size 650 x 23c Presta Recommended Air pressure 100 psi Maximum Air pressure 110 psi
I just ordered for a new pump with gauge and unknowingly filled in 140 psi in both the tires. Within 10 minutes I realized my mistake. I immediately deflated both the tires to the correct pressure.
However I did not ride the bike with the wrong pressure !
My question is :
1. Have I, in any way damaged the tire or tube ? 2. Have I damaged the rim ?
I doubt you damaged anything. I run my Equinox tires (700c) at 140psi all the time. If you read the packaging with the tires, you will see that they actually recommend pressures above what is printed on the sidewall for heavier riders.
yeah damage is unlikely in that case, you'll get damage if you leave the tires for an extended period of time over inflated and / or if you ride your bike repeatedly over inflated,
