I have read the Miayta air seat conversion instructions on
http://www.unicycling.org/. Can I do that to another type of seat? I have a
Sun Uni with their standard seat.

Yes, any type of unicycle seat can be converted. I made an air saddle
out of the one that came on my Sun, Coker, and the Miyata that came on
my MUni. The only drawback to the "other" brands is that you may have to
glue the cover on.

I haven't done it myself but I heard that the only seat that is hard to
do a conversion on is a Kris Holm saddle.
