I went to my local Aldi today.
The locusts had been. Cycling shoes only, which I don't
really need/want :-(
Any reports of the overshoes in London are Aldis gratefully
received.

Likewise at Aldi Hyde, Cheshire. No gloves at all, which is what I really fancied; only v small overshoes, loads of kiddies hats, trousers, shoes and pedals. Oh, and one only sized S winter training jacket in yellow for £9.99 which I was delighted to snap up. It seems pretty good too!
ISTR reading somewhere that Aldi were putting a stop to the ebay locusts by imposing limits to the quantities of things individuals can haul away? So no more early bird pushing away a trolley full of winter gloves at 9.01 on a Thursday?
Also on the way out I noticed a display cabinet containing an under-TV DVD recorder for £100 which looked OK and a twin-screen portable DVD player (of the type uses to keep kids happy in cars, with screens on the back of the headrests) for £150. Sorely tempted but managed to resist.
Oh, and 5-pack DVD re-recordables for 2.99 which seems a bit of a bargain too.

John, where have you been hiding....it's common knowledge that even turning
up at Aldi in the afternoon of the first day of their bike gear sales yeild
next to nothing. I was lucky enough to get someone to go on my behalf at
luchtime on Thursday and even then the pickings in Bradford and Shipley were
poor. I popped into my local Meanwood branch on Friday evening and much to
my surprise found that they had some XL shirts and thermals left bought one
of each to top up existing Aldi wardrobe. There were shoes and pedals in
abundance but the shoes were too small and I didn't need the pedals.
I found a locust's item on eBay; I asked him why he was selling Crane
clothing at twice the RRP, but questions do not appear on the site
unless he answers them.

not when you can get 100 for 29.99 in Maplin (no boxes but I buy the
super thin ones for 5p on eBay) Hmm, maybe someone is buying them in
Aldi and splitting them?
