Currently sleep and generally "live" at ~6250'. Train in between sea level and 8500'. Supposedly, the elevation I sleep at is borderline effective at elliciting a desired response. I've read that about 7000-8500 is "optimal". Any ideas how that conclusion is made? I would assume it's a highly individual thing as far as what the optimal sleeping elevation is, but 7000-8500 is a very narrow range. I'm generally at 6250' for about 18 hours of the day, only driving down the mountain for my workout. Would somebody who lives at elevation be more likely to handle sleeping at elevations above 8500', and if so, would that be beneficial?

Any thoughts on tents for those already at altitude that I'm not asking directly about?

Anybody want to give me a tent to find out?!
