I've finally decided to go all Linux at home. My single biggest challenge is GPS software...we'll
see if I can do it. Got a Debian box and it looks like my "big" box will be Mandrake 9.1.

'Course my wife want's no part of it, and I'll still have her box to play M$ Motocross
madness on! :)

Debian is my distro of choice. If you're new to it and need any guidance, I may (may!) be
able to help.

Wow, guess that next a.m-b report (why we get that, I have NO idea) will show a whopping *4*
slrn users!

Next thing we'll all be swapping horror stories about punch cards.

Took me a minute to parse that. At first I thought you were comparing gentoo (OS) to google (search
engine), and I was mightily confused.

Got it now! You use knode on gentoo at home. You use google's newsgroup feature on whatever
(probably windows) at work.

Me, I use ssh + screen to run slrn wherever I am =)

I'm gonna try Mandrake and see how it is...I'm running Debian Woody on this box. I absolutely LOVE
the apt-get system.

If I can get some good ftp sources configured with the Mandrake SW Manager I hope to have similar
functionality.

I'm mighty partial to Mandrake too. Used to be a Redhat user, but since installing mdk9.1, there's
no going back for me.
