I have read that reducing dietary intake of starch can
slow the onset of ankylosing spondylitis. A close friend
of mine has recently been diagnosed with it and I'm
looking for some sound advice on any dietary factors that
may help him. thanks

vitamin (as well as others) thus leaving you open to all
kinds of disease and conditions such as ankylosing
spondylitis.1) Cut out refined carbs such as starches, refined flours,
sugar, etc. Avoid ready-to-eat cereals, white pasta,
white bread, soda, etc.
2) Supplement with a good B vitamin complex, stress
formula, 2 or 3 times a day with food (and not directly
before bedtime)
3) Supplement with 1000 mg Vitamin C. Minimum 3 per day,
maximum as much as 10 or 15 per day.
4) Folate or folic acid, anywhere from 1 mcg to 20 or
more per day.
5) Eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
6) Avoid trans-fats such as margarine and shortening,
eat lots of fresh healthy fats, such as olive oil,
pork or beef fat, and fresh butter, whole fresh milk,
cheese, etc.If it doesn't clear up the condition, it will at least
ensure that your friend is in the best of nutritional health
possible as he deals with the effects of the condition.TC
