  1. Tralgauge is GPS mapping software suitable for planning and
    measuring walking, running and cycling routes on a scanned
    map or downloaded map image.

    The new features in this release are :-

    * Auto downloading of NASA SRTM height data for your map,
    * Calculation of a smooth height field over the map to give
    heights at any point on the map,
    * Interactive 3D visualizations e.g. walkthroughs and
    flythroughs of routes on the map (OpenGL graphics
    required)
    * Generate your own copyright free topographic maps from
    SRTM data, ideal for publishing your routes on the web
    * Enhance your own maps by adding light source shading,
    contour line or height colouring.
