  1. Racing Underground is pleased to announce a winter addition to it's 2004 duathlon calendar. The
Chilly Cheeks winter duathlon series offers Colorado multisport athletes the opportunity to test
their mid-winter fitness with events in December, January, and February.

The low key, low cost Chilly Cheeks series takes place at Cherry Creek State Park, in Denver. The
pre-registration fee for each race is just $20, or just $55 for the whole 3-race series!

The Chilly Cheeks Duathlon Series is composed of 3 events consisting of approximately 4 miles of
running on paved roads, bike paths, and dirt trails, as well as approximately 10 miles of paved
cycling in each race. The format will change from race to race.

The series will feature two divisions - Fat-Tire and Open, with 3 age categories for men and women
within each division. The Fat Tire Division requires competitors to ride a mountain bike or Hybrid
with a minimum tire width of 1.9. The Open Division allows racers to ride whatever type of bike the
    weather and course conditions dictate.

Series events will be held on December 21, January 25, and February
    29. All events will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Cherry Creek State Park in Denver.

Racing Underground also produces the Mile-High Duathlon Series, The Harvest Moon Long-Course
Triathlon, and other events in the Denver/Boulder area.
