I particularly liked:
"Fear not, rail companies say, for we have taken bold initiatives with
councils to provide bike storage in stations. You can hire a bike when
you get where you are going."

sound tempting but you never know what you may get, you’re bound to feel
guilty afterwards and, chances are, your balls will ache."

I think that makes the point rather well.
