I saw another Reading bobby (not PC Stratton) cycling through town yesterday - he didn't have a
regulation "Police" bike (the ones with blues and twos) but it was a Dawes rigid MTB with rack and
panniers. The officer was certainly using it for operational purposes (rather than just riding in
for dutyand using a panda car instead) as he was wearing TVP cycling uniform - black nylon
overtrousers, reflective vest/jacket (over stab-proof vest) and Police" cycling helmet.
He did seem a bit worried and unsure of himself for a copper (as if he was to cycling?) Perhaps this
is a new initiative by TVP to get *more* bobbies back on bikes - IMO a Good Thing.
