So he hasn't slept for the past week, waiting for his new fixie to arrive...

He can smell that new bike. The scent is trailing from the UPS truck...

The bike arrives today.

Has he worn out the 'refresh' button on the browser, trying to track UPS's movements down to the
linear foot?

commute...

He has many, many years of experience with fixies, that won't be a problem...

But me on the other hand...I'm still learning how to stop...

A brake is a complete must have... Although I have to say Carla has gotten very good at anticipating
and really only uses it when really nessesary... RR coming and yes the maiden voyage for me was
brakeless...

What do kids usually get on their bikes these days... is it still coaster brakes or do they start
right up with hand brakes?

Either. Depends upon the bike. Some have both.

My kids started with disc brakes because they offer superior modulation. .

Depends. My daughters pre sale Schwinn has rear coaster, and front hand. But I added that last part
myself. :)
