  1. I was wondering if there is any value in older frames/b ikes, maybe not so much for use, but just for a collector. I have a 1989 Specialized Epic Allez, carbon fiber, and equipped with Campy Athena. The frame in excellent condition.

again, just checking to see if there is any value.

    thanks!

  2. These frames were known for failure at the headtube joints from sweat degrading the adhesion. If that is not a problem on your's, these still make excellent riding bikes. I have one in my collection and have slightly upgraded it to Mavic Open Pro rims and index shifting using Sora brifters as these were the only ones I could find for a 7 speed freewheel. I use it for extremely steep rides as it is my only bike with a triple. In nice condition, these sell on Ebay for around $350-$400.Early carbon bikes are just catching on with collectors. It may be worth more in the future ( or maybe less).Kind of like the stock market, but much sweeter to look at!
