It would seem like a good idea to set up a website with links to great rides mapped by GPS and then put onto google earth or maps.google.com.

Photos could also be attached via linking to flickr.com

All that is needed is a PDA or mobile phone and bluetooth GPS receiver.

Anyone keen to help?
Has it already been done?

I was more interested in doing things on the cheap with my mobile phone and ebay purchased GPS unit. :p

What would be good would be a list of good rides in an area with GPS files attached and available to download so Tomtom could direct you around this ride. It may be too much work for very little gain however......:(

here is my Google earth places folder

http://www.tacx-video.com/Downloads/Phils%20Google%20Earth%20places.kmz

It includes a load of the big Euro climbs which we have on film for the trainer. plus a load of other less interesting places & routes. i have a load of images of the roads marked & when I find a moment of pure boredom I will link the Photos to the kmz file. If anyone wants to add to this collection Please send me your kmz files & I will host it.

Im especialy interested in any really sceinic routes or well known routes ;)
