Anyone tried glass reinforced packing tape as rim tape?

3M makes a polyimide(sp?) tape that I use for rim tape. It is thin, transparent
(has the color of caramelized sugar, dark honey), and the adhesive is formulated
to stay soft at high and low temperature extremes without hardening or turning
gummy. It is also very expensive: US$30+ per 1" roll. Hey ... I use whatever
is lying around. :)

I use velocity aerohead rims and run velox rim tape. Not thin at all, but I
have no problems getting my tires on and off the rim.
