Anyone used Radweit maps for the German cycle network?

I am planning a ride from Bristol (gert lush!) in SW England to Copenhagen and stumbled across some amazing maps at www.radweit.de. The author has created the maps in such a way that every route between major cities fits onto one sheet of paper! Amazing and worth a look. ANYWAY - the distances quoted are radically different to other sources on the net (much shorter) and athough based on base maps, I wondered if anyone had used these maps and could say how accurate the distances are. you can trace the route manually with google earth and get a pretty accurate distance plus the elevation profile
