Anyoneowned a stock cross check? How were the wheels?

I recall reading in the past that the alex rims suck. What has been your experience? And what's your opinion of those slanted drop outs? And how did it handle with the rear panniers heavily loaded?

Define sucks.

You get what you pay for. Alex makes inexpensive rims and whole wheels for many brands, including Specialized, and their stuff isn't bad. I like the rims better than the hubs. Usually a double-wall rim that cracks or won't stay true is more the fault of the guy who strung it than the rim itself.
