Are there any 12-27 cassette users?

Hi folks, I was debating a 12-27 cassette.. I have a 11-21 and want to be able to spin faster up hills. I realize I will need a new chain as well, but i was wondering if any of you are using a 53/39 with a 12-27? Is the shifting jumpy because of the increased spacing at the 24 and 27 rings?

FWIW I have a 12-28 rear cog with 26/36/46 chainrings. Shifting is precise.

Cool.. Should I need a new Rear Derailleur for this? I have a short cage dura-ace

Since I'm strictly a recreational rider on a mtb, yes, a long cage rear derailleur is de rigeur.
