While all the pro’s are in peak season over in Europe, the Tweed Valley has its own cycling mania powering up with just under 1000 cyclists turning their way through the beauty of the region for 4 days from the 29th April 2011.

[FONT= 'Lucida Sans Unicode']The Battle incorporates two events: the Tour De Tweed (Friday 29th April – Monday 2nd May) – a competitive cycling 4-stage tour and the Tweed Daily News Gran Fondo social rides (Sunday 1st May).[/FONT]

[FONT= 'Lucida Sans Unicode']The Tweed Daily News Gran Fondo Social rides this year will include an additional distance to choose from, the event is open to anyone with a bike and a bit of stamina to complete the Piccolo Fondo 57km, Fondo 136km or Gran Fondo 177km distance. Although not a race, participants can set their own challenges and personal goals.[/FONT]
