Hi,
I have been getting a strange sensation in my arms, hands,
legs, feet and sometimes in my
back, neck and backside. I have also experienced it rarely
in my left cheek. It's like a
coldish sensitive feeling. The best I can describe it is
like someone blowing slightly on
that area, the most common feeling though is a random sort
of trickling cold feeling down my
arms and legs. It feels like I have tiny trickles of cold
water running down my legs and
arms.
The feeling comes and goes sometimes for days at a time.
When it is really bad my legs feel
like giving way a little but they don't actually give way.
I have seen the doctor numerous times over the last year and
he says that the arms are
'carpal tunnel syndrome' but cannot explain the rest as this
shouldn't affect the rest of my
body? I have had an MRI scan at the hospital and this
showed nothing.
Diabetes has been ruled out by blood tests, Multiple
Sclerosis has also been ruled out.
I used to wake up with pins and needles in my hands but have
been on a small dose of 'Amitriptyline' only 10mg. This
seemed to help but made me feel quite tired and ratty at
first.
I have also had acupunture, worked on my shoulder in the
past but just gave me problems this
time around, loads of bruising.
I am going to see a 'Chiropractor' on Friday 18th June 2004
as I know that when I lift heavy
things the 'Cold Flushing Sensations' are intensified for
the next week or so.
It's really starting to get me down and was wondering if
anyone has any idea of what is
happening to me, I am a single dad with two lovely little
girls (4 & 6 years) and I hope
whatever is happening to me doesn't turn me into a bitter
old man before my time.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks for listening Julian
