Armstrong and Lemond

Interesting interview, but I was a bit suprised that Lance is still so
irritated with Lemond. It's really too bad that Lemond and Lance don't
have a better relationship. I just hope that Lance will play a bigger
role in US cycling then Lemond has. I think that Lemond could have
really helped racing in the US if he did more.

on the couch and get fat?
ARMSTRONG:: I'll be a fitness junkie forever, not out of shape like
some guys. But I'm not naming names... achoo-lemond!

PLAYBOY: During that sneeze one side of your mouth mentioned Greg
LeMond, your boyhood hero, who won three Tours but now rips you. He
suspects you're a doper. What's your relationship with LeMond?
ARMSTRONG:: None. What he did in 1989 and 1990 was phenomenal. But
Greg's not even worth talking about today. And I don't need to hear
from him -- he'd only shove his foot farther down his mouth."

What I always found stupid about greg is how he in his latter years would
always talk up his chances in the tour and falter miserably. year after
year.

Come on now - even when Greg was winning we ALL knew he was a whiny
little baby. That didn't stop him from winning but let's face it - he
never had to grow up and he plainly didn't.

Lance is something else altogether. I expect to see some really big
things from him in the future. He isn't just a pair of legs attached to
a brain the size of a vole's.

I don't recall Lafferty evel calling LANCE a slimeball. Anyway vocal
minority sounds like a good name for a rock band.

The furthest I gone is to say that, IMO, a prima facae case has been made
that Armstrong has used illegal performance enhancing substances. That
could be rebutted by direct answers from Armstrong to the difficult
questions that all but Walsh and Ballestier are willing to ask. Perhaps
some of those questions will be asked in any of several court cases
involving Armstrong,strong--a point that Daniel Coyle has made in his book
and in interviews.

Vocal minorities are always better than silent majorities. :)

PRIMA FACIE: Latin for "at first view." Refers to the minimum amount of
evidence a plaintiff must have to avoid having a case dismissed. It is said
that the plaintiff must make a prima facie case.

What a sad, unclassy, anger-fueled, immature side of Armstrong he shows
us. So much for the modesty and grace he supposedly developed as a
cancer victim, then survivor. Those qualities are apparently saved for
his loyal friends and briefly after refreshers in media training.

Did he have the same ugly words for Merckx before Merckx lost weight
last year?

Prima Facie \PRY-muh-FAY-shee; -shuh\, adverb:

PF is not circumstantial. The only real PF evidence of doping is a
confirmed positive blood test. That is sufficent to establish the
fact of doping. Even possession would not, in itself, be PF evidence
that someone actually took dope.

So to say there's a PF case is simply incorrect.

If you want a legal term to describe LA and drugs, you might try
reasonable suspicion and even that's a stretch. Reasonable suspicion
is the standard (in the US) that allows police agencies to conduct an
investigation and/or obtain search warrants and wire taps.

Well, Lance is doing much better than Marion Jones, who has been
systematically excluded from invitational events, despite never
having tested positive. Like Lance, her accusers are untrustworthy
people with an axe to grind.

performance? Nah... everybody else was/is on drugs... that has to be

In the interview Armstrong tells how devastated he was by those
who abandoned him. Left him for dead. Imagine living and breathing
and treated like the dead. After that he could see clearly who his
friends are. GL is not one of them. You want Armstrong to play
kissy face with that?
