  1. Hi,

    I'm a 38 year old male, reasonably healthy - don't smoke,
very moderate alcohol intake (1 or 2 drinks a month), good
blood pressure, exercise once or twice a week at the gym
(mostly cardio on the treadmill, bike, etc). My eating
habits are not saint-like but I do avoid the usual McD/greay-
eggs and bacon routine. Lots of veggies and fibre. Somewhat
    overweight at 200lbs on a 5'10" frame.

In the last 6 months I have begun to notice a fluttering
sensation in my chest which seems to be a skipped heart beat
if I feel my pulse by pressing my fingers to my neck. It
seems to come about during the initial phases of exercising
(say the first 10 minutes) when the heart rate is
increasing. The skipped beats will occur every 4th or 5th
beat an then seem to disappear. But lately it seems to
happen even if I have a brisk walk (say from my car to the
office which is a 3 or 4 minute walk). What was an
occational skip (maybe once a week or less) now seems to
    happen almost every day.

I've had an initial assessment with my physician who has
ordered a holter monitor, ECG, and blood/chlestoral test and
will determine if the condition is arrhythmia or not. These
will happen in the next few weeks. In the meantime my
anxiety about this is high and I find myself constantly
worried over what is happening. Can anyone tell me about
their experiences with arhythmia, the disgnotsic process
etc. I'd love to hear what others have gone thru.

    Regards, Chris

Uh-oh, you might be 50 lbs overweight. Would suggest you ask
your doctor about the 2PD approach:

  3. I am not a doctor, but I would treat this with a little more
urgency (notice I did not say "emergency"😉.

Why are you going to a physician? You should be seeing a
cardiologist. Sounds to me like you could reproduce this
during a stress test and not have to wait.
