At last a good reason for spoke reflectors

I've been ambivalent about white spoke reflectors until tonight.

Driving back tonight along a B-road country lane in the middle of nowhere I was somewhat
taken aback to see some acrobatics being performed by what had to be a bike about 100yds
ahead. The white reflectors climbed up the hedge and into the bank and then it got a bit
confusing.

When I arrived at the scene of the performance I found:
- Two riders but only one bike
- No lights of any sort
- Probably ****** or utterly reckless
As both parties seemed to be standing I didn't hang around.

If they hadn't had the wheel reflectors doing bizarre antics I might have had extreme
difficulty seeing them in good time to stop. (I could have - probably - possibly with
plenty to spare - but an invisible cyclist (presumably not helped by my undipped
headlights) could have chosen a much closer position to lose control.)
