I know absolutely NOTHING about the cereal,

Well, that's precisely my point and if that's the case, why make comments about it?

What comments did I make about *it?* I made a general comment saying
"cereal isn't for induction anyway, high-carb or low-carb". (In
    agreement with the OP, actually)

Sigh... I give up trying to get people to see where I was coming from.
People don't even have to agree with me, it would just be utopian if
they saw where I was coming from.

Again, I didn't "come out of the woodwork to [censored] all over it."
My contribution above BEGINS with the word "and", in other words, I
wasn't disagreeing on the "too many carbs" issue. I was ALSO adding
that ingredients in >induction< also matter, not just the carb count.

It was induction that I quoted about, and induction that I followed up
about. I never said anything about the other phases. One would think I
had said that such a thing is not allowed in Atkins at all....

I know absolutely NOTHING about the cereal, and I cannot find a single
post in which I described the cereal as a bad thing, or said it was a
    bad product.

Ahh well, usenet does continue to be a very confusing place.
    Crafting Mom

No problem there Crafting Mom, I *AGREE* with your clarifications over my
original post. If you read it with the emphasis on certain words (or
perhaps just using proper grammar) it could be taken that I meant the cereal
was fine for induction (which BTW, not, I am not on).

And just like in real life, what I say, what I mean (and now, what I type),
never seem to come out correctly.

    Best wishes all...

Heh, it happens. I'm pretty much the queen of not articulating
what I mean very well. I'll have a discussion with someone
(verbally, face to face) for hours sometimes, and then just
before falling to sleep the correct words that would have summed
up what I mean in one sentence come on like a light bulb (hehe).
It's like fumbling for the "right word."

Written "conversational" English is sometimes very confusing. It's
extremely EASY to do 🙂 I do it myself, as often, if not more than, the
times I'm on the receiving end of misunderstanding.

    Cheers,

Shopping last night, I decided to pop in to London Drugs to pick up a couple

products I have been seeing popping up everywhere.

Let's have a quick show of hands from all those folks who have lost
100 pounds or more and kept it off eating packaged cereal. Uh huh.
Thought so. If you are a member of the century club my suggestion is
to keep it simple if you want to keep the fat off. Eat meat, drink
water, sip oil, move to the best of your ability and eat your

    Has everyone gone totally stupid?

"A few too many carbs for Induction, but if I can keep finding it for
    less
than $5, it will become a nice once or twice a week addition to this
    WOE.

Emphasis or proper grammar could turn this into the cereal being ok
for induction? It's clear as a bell to anyone who can read what you
    said.

OK, ready for THIS sentence? <grin>

I never said that GT said or implied that THIS was the cereal that was
ok for induction.... (there were to many carbs in this sentence LOL).

I'm not going to bother repeating what it is I thought was implied.
I did that already 3 and 4 and 5... posts ago, and its old.

What is it you seek, Chet?

And not on the allowed induction list of foods, IIRC.

The above are my un-edited words of my post.
Note the use of the word "and." Note also, the location of the word
"and." "And" is a conjunction, a word used to co-join two ideas
    together.

I can only speak for my own words. So here is the meaning my own quoted
words. Those particular words were written, NOT to indicate that I
thought he thought it was for induction, NOT to disagree. They were
written to EXPAND on what he said.

It's amazing how one sometimes has to use paragraphs of words to explain
    a 10-word phrase sometimes ;-)

Next time I'll just have fun watching everyone philosophize and analyze
and misunderstand the minutiae... seems like it would be more fun,
    anyway.

Anyway, this has been a riot...

I know you never said it or implied it. The above was in response to
GT for issuing some sort of apology or clarification for the grammar
in his original statement. It was perfectly clear to begin with.

I can see why you posted what you did, what you meant and it wasn't
unreasonable. What gets me annoyed is that if you look at not only
this thread, but most others where someone reports some new find,
many, perhaps most, of the posts are in at least some way negative.
The worst are from the food purists, who blast everything. And then
there are the few that hurl insults for no reason, because in their
sad world, they get some sick enjoyment out of putting others down.

It would just be nice to see some threads where people say, Gee,
thanks for letting us know, I'll try that. So, I wasn't directing my
remark to you, really, but more in a general way. Sorry if I offended
    you.

Yes, let me think. What should I have for breakfast today? Some nice
LC cereal with LC milk, or oil. I know, I'll have the cereal, and let
Lee suck down the sipping oil.

It is LC, so exactly what is your problem? Must people have had to
have been 100+ pounds over weight to have credibility? And just for
the record, in my opinion, anyone who sips oil is whacko, for the
simple reason that with any reasonable approach to LC one already gets
    plenty of fat.

  19. WFFID the line forms behind Chet.

"What is this I hear about sipping oil?" Sipping oil is shorthand for,
be sure to get all of your essential fatty acids EFAs.

JK, I'm not condemning these new LC foods as much as I am offering my
opinionated counter balance to someone singing their praise. I've
seen countless WFFID screw up their progress with faux-foods. And
being a charter member as well as ex-chairman of the local WFFID
franchise I feel the need to march around with an "X" is not lowcarb
picket sign whenever the opportunity presents itself. Frankenfoods
are the biggest selling items in the lowcarb shopping cart. And in my
opinion they are landmines on the slippery slope leading back to
weight gain, frustration and failure. I'd like to think that my
protests have been persistent rather than negative or nasty.

As with all such things time will reveal which position was more
appropriate for longterm success. Mine is just one more voice and one
    more opinion from the crowd.
