Lightweight? Yes, extremely lightweight. But I'll pass on such a flimsy looking piece that's performing such an important job when it comes to my well being. Besides, it's a bit on the ugly side IMHO. Not to mention 600 Euros for a stem!!

Hi carbonG.

That stem is complete c***. The weight would assume you would use a carbon bar with it, which already have friction (lack of) issues. A clamp of that design wouldn't produce enough friction, but maybe with a dynamic assembly compound. Also, you would constantly be worrying about when its going to snap on you, making you ride slower. And the biggest issue is the clamp interface. Who wants to take off their bartape & lever to switch their stem?
Get an Extralite Roadstem UL2 for 130 euro. It weighs less than 90g (89g in 120mm), is proven and has a real set of interfaces.

(Anti carbon rant over) But by all means use a carbon bar:D

It does seem to be a bit much, especially in terms of price. Just go wee-wee before your ride...

Perhaps one of you knowledgeable people could work out how much faster they would get up a hill with such a stem.

There would be the double weightloss benefits - 63gram stem and lack of $ bulging in the pocket too:eek:
