I think you may be correct. Perhaps the economics of the LBS is putting too much pressure on them?
I see damn fine bikes in the shops starting at $300 or so. I recall that a gal friend paid more than
that for her bike for college back in 1971!!!
Perhaps the local shop (some of them) have become desperate.
