Baltimore to Philadelphia help

Hello everyone,

As you can see, I am new to this website but not new to the world of cycling. My buddies and I are currently planning out a ride from Baltimore to Philadelphia and trying to come up with the best ways to get there. We've done longer rides like this in the past and have used the cycling option on Google Maps without any problems. However, this time it looks like it's taking us about 30 miles on a full sized highway not meant for riding. I was just wondering if anyone on here had done this ride before, or if you have any inputs on how we should map out the ride. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That stretch on Rt 1? Not a lot of choices out there for a direct route, I'm thinking. I bet you can wind your way around, but you'll likely be adding a lot of distance.
Between those two places, There are not a lot of good cycling roads.
