More of a bananapod really. Looks like it has a saddlebag-
loop fitting, but I can't really tell from the pics.
Perhaps there's some sort of a case for patent
infringement here?

Looks like a Canadian invention, my guess it will not be
compatible with EU regulation straight bananas
Rest assured the Bananaguard will fit about 90% of commercially available bananas. Canadian cyclist have been enjoying them for several months now.
