same as Scott yes, but the trek has Bontreiger wheels (there second best set) which are markedly better than the 540's the TCR and Scott come with but not 2k better

I've had my Cannondale '04 R2000 for 6 weeks now and absolutely love it.

The frame has a lifetime warranty and come's with Mavic K SL, full ultegra, and carbon seat post. The only thing I changed was the saddle (got a fizik arione). So it's definatley good bang for buck.

Is it the best - that's personal preference, but I have no regrets with my purchase.

Next year, I'm planning to upgrade to DuraAce group, and the total cost will still be less than almost any comparitively equipped bike (especially if I can sell my Ultegra group for a good price).

With all the 04 sales, I got mine for $2,100 from my LBS. I'm biased, but I put about 300 miles on it in about 1 month of riding. So this bike fits your budget and tons of other people it seems
