battery for tire light (New Zealand)

I'm stumped.

I have recently migrated to NZ and am having trouble finding button
batteries for my tire lights.

In the US they took L1131. I could get these at any Walgreens. The
equivalent (so says Google) for New Zealand is 389 or V389. I've tried
these in three different places but they won't work.

Any other Kiwis or Aussues have this problem?

Dear Doug,

There are a hideous number of other U.K. equivalents--and
they're not standing upside down below the equator.

"L1131 Battery 389 is our replacement battery."

"Batteries equivalent to:

SR1130W, SR54, SR1130, SB-BU, 280-15, M, V389, D389, 626,
S1131E, GP389, AG10, 389, 189, L1131, G10, V10GA, LR55,
LR1130, GP189, LR54."

One possibility is that your tire lights (or fittings and
battery-holder and so forth) are what actually failed and
must be replaced, not just the batteries.
