like to do about seven days, not too steep and, by the
way, I detest hot weather.
What do you class as hot weather? Depends on what you're
used to. What do you define as steep?
Quoted message said:I too detest hot weather; in fact I wilt almost as soon as
the sun shows its face and the temperature gets to above
above 20C (16C or 17C for walking because I overheat very
quickly). Although the weather in the UK is unpredictable
at best, I don't usually do a lot of walking in July or
August because though it can be wet and horrible, when
those months get hot they don't do it by halves.
We often get "heatwaves" during the summer where the
temperature is typically between 25-30 degrees for a week or
two. August is a good time for these.
On the other hand cooler days are not uncommon in August,
accompanied by showers, rain, breezes etc. Sometimes we get
real downpours in August, the remnants of hurricanes
crossing the Atlantic. So expect anything, but as a rule it
is one of the hottest months of the year, if not the driest.

If you really hate hills, try the Norfolk Broads.

I'll tell you what August is likely to be, and that's
*crowded*. If you want cooler places to walk you're going
to be wanting to be near the coast or up a tall mountain
where the breeze can cool you down.
If there is a breeze. During high pressure there's usually
no wind at all so you can be just as hot on top of a
mountain as down in the valley.
