Bell Lock, is it Kryponite co-branded?

No to both.

The Bell's locking mechanism has only superficial resemblances to the
Kryptonite; it's harder to pen a Bell, but they're low-security
otherwise. Beware of the fact that if you carry this lock hanging
from anything but the supplied bracket, vibration can cause it to open
spontaneously...and render it useless, since the key won't work
anymore. I've had it happen to two of them now.

My advice: Buy a real Kryptonite if you want a U-lock...and if you're
in NYC or a similar theft-intensive area, don't park your bike without
*really good* locking measures. (An acquaintance in Queens told me
that in NYC in general, if the locks and chains weigh or cost less
than the bike, you probably don't have enough.)
