I dontthink there are "correct" routes up Ledi, or any other Scottish hill for that matter.

There was some forestry work affecting some of the routes from the traditional car park, I dount
know what the situation is now, but they will not be working at the weekend.

The car park is inadequate and there were plans to build a new one and most folk would then take the
south ridge from the Trossachs road. This park may now be in operation.

Follow the path (adjacent to the bridge crossing loch lubnaig) at GR NN586093. If this appears
blocked, take care and step around it - obviously there may be deforestation in progress so expect
the resulting hazards further ahead. This path can is quite rocky and muddy but follow it until you
walk amongst a bunch of trees (are they still there ? :-) ) and a wider track crossing your path @
NN581094. Cut straight across this track heading in the same direction you are currently facing,
although the path ahead should be heading slightly to the right. This eventually takes you towards a
steep rocky face to which you & the path keeps left. Follow this and eventually loch venechar will
appear south, soon after this point the path turns right and the walk to the summit begins (there
can be a little boggy area just beyond this turn).

Nice views to be had all round from summit and a memorial for a mountain rescue member death on top
so take a camera. Some pics (no's 13-16)are on my site

has now re-opened and Forest Enterprise are to carry out remedial works in the lower sections where
lack of maintenance in the past has caused gullying. There is also to be a minor diversion in the
cleared forest to avoid the erosion-prone steepest section. " There is no date on the article so
the remedial works may have been applied. The southern approach is fairly straightforward from the
deserted-looking farm of Coilantogle. Follow the farm track up to near the forestry then a faint
path skirts the forestry and climbs the moorland slopes to the ridge proper where the 'normal' path
comes in from the east. It's a surprisingly good ski route even under minimum snow cover. Not too
sure if there is much parking space at the start though but there is a good pub for afterwards at
Kilmahog's Lade Inn.
