Where the streets have no name...U2
    Marathon...Rush
Italian Symphony...Mendelsohn(the music from "Breaking Away")
    I've been everywhere...Johnny Cash

and one of my faves "Ghost Rider" from Rush.

    Ghost Rider

    Pack up all those phantoms
    Shoulder that invisible load
Keep on riding North and West
    Haunting that wilderness road
    Like a ghost rider

    Carry all those phantoms
Through bitter wind and stormy skies
From the desert to the mountain
From the lowest low to the highest high
    Like a ghost rider

Keep on riding North and West
    Then circle South and East
Show me beauty but there is no peace
    For the ghost rider

    Shadows on the road behind
    Shadows on the road ahead
    Nothing can stop you now

There's a shadow on the road behind
There's a shadow on the road ahead
    Nothing can stop you now

    Sunrise in the mirror
    Lightens that invisible load
    Riding on a nameless quest
    Haunting that wilderness road
    Like a ghost rider

    Just an escape artist
    Racing against the night
    A wandering hermit
    Racing toward the light

    From the white sands
    To the canyonlands
    To the redwood stands
    To the barren lands

    Sunrise on the road behind
    Sunset on the road ahead
There's nothing to stop you now
    Nothing can stop you now

Since there are lyrics being posted i stoped being lazy
Here Is the lyrics for my nomination of
    Ironman by Die Krupps

Go shed the old skin -for the new skin
    transgression
let the old flesh -rotten to trash
    resurrection
    seize the old laws
    riddled by flaws
    perfection
    open your mind
    don't stay behind
    progression
weakness - these days are over
old flesh - replaced by shiny armour
new thoughts - the mind expanding
real tasks - that are demanding

    this body is invincible
    perfection is the principle

    feel the clockwork
    of the new heart
    precision
    feed the engine
    of your bloodstream
    recondition
    move your muscles
    like a machine
    direction
    give your life
    a new dimension
    extension

But i am agreeing with most of the other nominations,
    Licence it and press it.
Then make one for the poser crew in USPS colours all thyl need is some silly techno/dance remixes of top 40 songs...

    Queen - Headlong, Innuendo
Queen - Ride the Wild Wind, Innuendo

I never rode listening to this, but in the car they sure make me 'step on it'!

And like someone said, Bicycle Race always should always go in the top 10!

No real Aussie stuff here so I thought I might add a bit. Haven't tried riding to any of this cos I think its just too dangerous. Some are probably a bit too slow for what you want. Here goes:

Some assembly required: One dollar short
The nosebleed section: Hilltop hoods (might be offensive to some)
Hello and Days like these: Cat empire
All the same: Antiskeptic (religious but half alright)
Anything by bodyjar or jebediah, after the fall will be alright in a couple of years when they really make it.

These bands probably mean nothing to you guys but arent bad.

"Lunatic Fringe" by Red Rider from the Visionquest soundtrack. There is no way that you can watch that movie and not be motivated - even 19 years after its release.

I remembered one of my alltime favourites the other day whilst riding.

Let the night roll on by The Angels.
    I've even refurbished the lyrics:

    (chorus)
    Let the bike roll on
    I'm lookin for hills...
    Let the bike roll on
    Lookin for thrills

It's Saturday morning I got legs o steel
I can ride all day in the big chain wheel...

okay this get the vote for the most bizzare suggestion of the day..my nomination is Somewhere in Time by Iron Maiden. Songs like Stragnger in a Strange Land and The Lonliness of the Long Distance runner (cyclist) always put me in the mood to get on my bike and up into the hills...

havent listened to the album in years though, i have to buy the CD

How about "Name of the game" by The Crystal Method. I saw about a 30sec montage of Lance's 4 (or 5, not sure when it was made) TdF wins, using that song. If you're looking for motivation on a ride, it should do the trick.
