Bying a trek 8.4. comes with Bontrager LT3's i will probably have these traded out as they seem pretty aggressive.
any suggestions on a good multisurface tire. thanks

Hi saber5, I have been told that Kenda Quests are very good for this purpose :)

Saber, if the shop you're buying the bike from is a Trek dealer, then Bontrager tires may be the main brand they stock.

If so, then the Bontrager Comfort tire might be a good choice. It has a thin smooth strip down the center to reduce rolling resistance on paved surfaces and has tread on the outside edges for added traction when you're off-road riding.

If they've got those in the Hardcase version, that would be an added advantage.

Are the case tires better/ durable. If heavier thats Ok I want the protection...I am mostly road paved And dirt. Like to ride field roads too

The Kenda Small block 8 are very good tires. They perform well on and off road. Seeing as the tire has eight rows of knobs the knobs are small and roll very smoothly.

Yes, the Bontrager Hardcase tires have a kevlar layer and are very puncture proof based on my experience.
