Best place for road cycling in USA?

Maybe these links can help? http://www.travelchannel.com/interests/outdoors-and-adventure/articles/top-10-cycling-cities-in-us. http://www.areavibes.com/library/best-places-to-bike-ride-in-america/

I've heard good things about Denver and Seattle.

Sounds lovely. I spent a week working in San Diego and decided I sure wouldn't mind living on the north side of the city.

Denver is a pretty gigantic sprawl but it has a good network of bike routes and multi-use paths. The trick to longer rides around Denver is finding a way to get out of town that doesn't involve getting in your car.

The Boulder area works better because the cities and towns are more compact and it's right up against the foothills. Unless you head up the canyons, though, plan on straight roads and persistent winds.

Riding in Colorado west of the Continental Divide is pretty amazing.

Very nice, Rich! And S.D. would have been a hellova sight better spot to spend with than Ohio, that's for sure. Good looking B&B you've got.

Sadly, S.D. probably still has a bench warrant out for my arrest from a 1972 J-Walking ticket a group of us was issued at 2 AM by the City Manager, no less.

Did you know that the good citizens of S.D. paid $65,000 (in 1972 Dollars) for each intersection to have pedestrian traffic control devices in place? Neither did we...before the screaming lecture started and wound up like a Top Fuel Dragster leaving the line.

The only redeeming part of that sad tale is while he and his high-class...er...****** were chewing us a new asshole and writing us up (who knew the head kazoo of S.D. kept a summons book in his suit pocket?), some guy that was even more trashed than us rammed his car into Mr. City Manager's parked Lincoln Mk. something-or-other with Miss ****** of the Month sitting inside! Hilarity ensued!

He fished a radio out of another suit pocket (Holy Batbelt full of tools to fight crime, Batman!) and called some cops to finish writing us up while he personally attended to the drunk that crunched up his spotless Lincoln.

Damn...was I really only 19 when that went down? Gotta be an amnesty or statute of limitations expiration or maybe Obama will just issue me a Presidential Pardon.
