What are the best wheels for training / fast club rides?

Performance Advanta Gipiemmie Technostar 024 Gipiemmie Monolith 024

All three sets are around 200 dollars for the pair.

Thanks Scott

Dear Scott,

It's beed said a thousand times on this forum and elsewhere that the best wheels are the ones that a
good wheelbuilder designs and makes for you based on your weight, riding style, intended, type of
terrain and road surfaces. It should be possible to stay within or close to your budget and get
something durable and, most importantly, repairable (accidents happen), that will exactly match your
requirements. If you have trouble finding someone near you that can do this, drop me an email as I
would be pleased to suggest something for you.

Best wishes,

Nigel Grinter

I weigh 160 pounds, and ride in Wisconsin, where it is very flat, so the weight of the wheel means
less to me than the aerodynamics and low spoke count. I'v had good luck with Gipimmie in the past,
but I am tempted to try the performance wheels becasue they are lighter and have fewer spokes. I
trust that they have a good wheel builder, and that I can find an "off the shelf wheel to suit my
needs. Scott
