Bhaji Meat (meat with spinach)

  1. Bhaji Meat (meat with spinach):

    500 grams lean hogget
    250 grams fresh spinach, chopped finely
    1 teaspoon turmeric powder
    1/4 teaspoon chilli powder
    1 teaspoon garam masala
    1 Tablespoon curry powder
    4 Tablespoons ghee or oil
    1 cup plain yoghurt
    salt to taste

    Soak spinach, wash several times and chop finely. Cube the meat, removing
    any fat. Heat the oil or ghee and brown the meat cubes, stirring all the
    time. When meat is brown, sprinkle over it the salt, turmeric, chilli and
    curry powders. Stir, mixing everything well. Cook the meat until half
    done. Now add the yoghurt and stir again. Let it cook and when the meat
    is nearly done add the drained spinach. Mix and cook until the spinach
    becomes pulped. Serve hot with chapatis.
