I'm looking to buy a hybrid like the Bianchi Avenue, but I wanted some second opinions. I read an old thread entitled "Bianchi Avenue sucks"!, and was a bit suprised. Consumer report has praised this bike but it seems that the general public only gives it a mediocre rating. Are there any similar bikes that give you more for your money?

I really think you would be hardpressed to find anyone with anything nice to say about a hybrid bike. The really nice things are said about the well balanced thoroughbreds or road bikes, even mountain bikes. Bianchi makes such incredible road frames, there could be nothing good to say about an alien hybrid by the same manufacturer. Test out some bikes and buy the one that you feel comfortable on. Forget the critics!
