For those who are year-round cyclists in DC/MD area, what should do I need to get for weekend riding through the winter months. Disregarding last years' brutal winter, how is the weather around this area for cyclists? I think, I can deal with 55-60degrees in bib shorts with under shirt and a jersey over it (or a lined jersey).

I am looking to buy either bib shorts or 3/4 length thermal knickers for legs... Again I am only a recreational rider and not a commuter. I don't want to spend $100-$150 on fleece lined tights if I am only going to use it 5-6 times in a year.

Any suggestions from local cyclists would be much appreciated. Thanks.
