Hello,
I am looking to buy a Boardman Hybrid Team and the Halfords site gives the sizes as thus for general bikes;

Inside Leg (inch / cm) Height (use as guide only) Frame Size

26" - 30" / 68cm - 76cm 5´ 1" - 5´ 3" 14" - 15" 30" - 33" / 76cm - 84cm 5´ 3" - 5´ 8" 16" - 17" 33" - 35" / 84cm - 90cm 5´ 8" - 6´ 18" - 20" 35" - 36" / 90cm - 92cm 6´ - 6´ 3" 20+" 36" + / 92cm 6´ 3" + 22+"

however the Boardman Hybrid Team has this specific information.

18" FrameInside leg lengths32" - 33"Height5´ 7" - 5´ 11"

    19" FrameInside leg lengths33" - 34"Height5´ 9" - 6' 2"
  • icon_bicycle_framesize_03.gif
    21" FrameInside leg lengths36" - 37"Height6´ 2" - 6´ 7"

now I am 5'11 which is fine however my inside leg is 30 inch. I am not a cyclist so bit silly but will the small sized frame be ok for me?

It looks like either the 18" or the 19" would work for you. If there's a problem with the 18, it would be that the length of the cockpit (roughly the distance between the saddle and the handlebar) would be short for you. On the other hand, the 19 might be a stretch for your short-ish legs to straddle. Ideally, I'd recommend trying both bikes out for size.

Less than ideally, see if you can get the standover height of the 19--that's the distance between the ground and the top of the top tube where you would straddle it. If the standover height of the 19 is greater than 29", get the 18.

I went for the medium option. looks brilliant. a very nice bike. extremely happy. just the inside leg made me question things...I even thought are they designed for pro cyclists or something, lol craned onto............as you can guess, I quickly discounted that for a mistake of some kind??

Halfords and documentation only has the 3 frame sizes for the bike I want.

I'm glad you're happy with your new bike. I was leaning toward the 19 for you, too.

And, no, it's not a pro bike, just a nicely equipped pavement hybrid. It looks like Halford's buys closeouts, so the selection is limited.
