I must put up a picture of the mutant.. There really can be no other
word for it.

Raleigh Arena 5speed with rear brake and gears stripped off. Rear wheel
replaced for a 26" MTB wheel with brazed up freehub. (interesting
fitting a 135mm OLN hub into a 120mm OLN frame.) Even more interesting
with a 1.9" semi slick tyre that has about 3mm clearance to the frame.

Front wheel is original but needs a new tyre, and the front hub is
narrower than my road bike hub.

I've not really dared to ride it yet.

The only thing original besides the frame is the bottom bracket. All the
other parts were either made from steel or cheese or was it steel cheese.

It was a bit steep and I did roll it back somewhat to nearly level but not
quite. The tribars make it uncomfortable otherwise. the bike is now in it's
winter attire with drop bars and mudguards fitted.
