He's about a year shy of typical age for managing a 24" wheel bike. The problem isn't just with the
standover & seat height; the biggest issue is how safely he can reach the bars & use the controls.
As wheelsize increases, this distance must as well, since you don't want your kid's foot running
into the front wheel.
Is there a friend or relative who might have a 20"-wheeled bike he could use for maybe a year, and
then make the change to 24? Or, are there younger brothers/sisters/relatives/friends who could use a
20" when he outgrows it (if you get him a new one)?
