Just found on letour.fr:

" The publishers of 'Velo Magazine' organized a ride on the rest day called 'l'Etape du Tour'. It
was the 10th anniversary of the ride which allows tourists to join some celebrities on the course of
a stage of the Tour de France.

One of the personalities who was a part of the 8,500 starters, was the five-time Tour de France
winner Miguel Indurain. The Spaniard abandoned the event which was held on the route which will be
used for stage 16, from Pau to Bayonne."

Wuss ;-)

And moreover:

"Some of the people who were participants in yesterday's Etape du Tour were: Alain Prost (the
four-time Formula-One world champion), Abraham Olano (the 1995 road race world champion) and Bart
Veldkamp (the Dutch speed skating Olympic gold medallist). Veldkamp finished the 201.5km ride 20
minutes faster than Olano."
