Looking to see if anybody uses a fork mount OEM BMW rack...just picked up a pair and dislike the way the forward-facing surface of the rear tire mount point is not enclosed and is essentially an 'air brake'...it makes more sense to flip 'em around and have them support the rear side of the rear tire vice front. Anybody tried this one before??? Thx!

If it'll work flipped around, go for it.

Here's a couple pix showing the different positions...also revealed that the Mondonico's left lug attach slot for the front axle is .025" too small to fit on the fork mount....looks like I get to file down the axle on the rack (hope its not hardened steel)

It is not much more of an airbrake than the whole rack on it's own. If you're worried about fuel efficiency then don't use racks at all.

Considering the whole enchilada you're probably right when there's bikes on board. But driving around with that chock facing the 'wrong way' on an empty rack isn't going to happen so it will either be mounted on the aft side (likely) or removed altogether until I toss up a bike (more likely).
